A new kitchen rarely goes into the room as it stands. There is usually a wall to move, a floor to level, a window to change, pipework and wiring to relocate, and a ceiling that needs sorting before a single unit goes in. When the building work and the fitting are done by two different firms, the joins show.
O&S refurbishes kitchens across Eastbourne, Hailsham, Hastings and the surrounding area as a single job. Our builders open up the room, our plumbers and electricians run the services to where the new layout needs them, and the units, worktops, flooring and tiling are fitted and finished by the same team.
We fit kitchens you have already chosen, or we can help you plan the layout before you order.
Pick a layout to see how the units sit in the room and how far you walk between the sink, the hob and the fridge.
Two facing runs. Very efficient in a narrow room, with everything a step or two away.
Two runs on adjoining walls, leaving the rest of the room open for a table.
Three walls of units and the most worktop of all, in a room you cook in rather than pass through.
A run along the wall and an island facing the room, the favourite in a new rear extension.
The parts of the work we handle ourselves, which on most jobs is all of it.
The old kitchen removed, walls taken out or moved, and steels fitted where the room is being opened up.
Water, waste, gas and power run to the new layout, with the wiring by our own electricians.
Floors levelled, walls plastered, and the room made ready for the fit.
Fitted and levelled properly, with worktops templated and cut in.
Wall tiling, floor tiling and glass or metro splashbacks.
Downlights, under cupboard lighting, sockets where you actually need them, and decoration.
The same four steps on every job, so you always know what happens next.
We see the room, talk through the layout and check what the building will allow.
One price for the building work, the services and the fit.
Strip out, first fix, plaster, fit and finish, in the right order and with the house kept usable.
Everything tested, the room cleaned, and our 12 month workmanship guarantee.
“Get the walls, the floor and the wiring right first. The units are the easy bit.”

Yes. Many of our customers have chosen their kitchen from a supplier and need a builder to prepare the room and fit it properly. We do the building work, the services and the fit.
Yes. Removing a wall between the kitchen and the dining or living room is one of the most common jobs we do. It usually needs a steel, which we fit to an engineer's design and have inspected.
Yes, with our own people. That is the difference with O&S: the kitchen is one job with one firm, not a builder, an electrician and a plumber to chase separately.
It depends on how much building work is involved. We plan the job so the time without a working kitchen is as short as possible, and we tell you the programme before we start.
Either. Some customers choose and buy their units from a supplier and we fit them; others ask us to source everything. We will talk through both routes at the first visit.
It depends on the job, but a straightforward refit with no structural work is typically a week or two. We will set up a temporary sink and a worktop for the kettle so you are not living on takeaways.
Most projects turn into two or three of these at once, and one team doing all of them is the whole point. Every service
Full bathroom and wet room fit outs, tanked and tiled properly so nothing moves in five years.
Single and double storey extensions, from the footings and the steel through to the last coat of paint.
Rewires, lighting and renewable energy installations, carried out by our own qualified electricians.
